Alfred's Ultimate Pop & Rock Instrumental Solos series is arranged for flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn in F, trombone, violin, viola, cello, and optional piano accompaniment. All wind instrument arrangements are fully compatible, and can be successfully performed as ensembles or solos by students who have completed the first book of any standard band method. A fully orchestrated accompaniment MP3 CD is provided, featuring each song as a live performance demo track followed by a play-along track. The CD also contains a PDF of the piano accompaniment and Alfred's Tempo Changer Software.

This trio for clarinet, alto saxophone, and piano was commissioned by the Music Teachers National Association to feature and promote collaborative music. It was premiered at the MTNA Conference in 2014. This suite uses triangles (minor 3rds) and squares (perfect 4ths) to formulate melodic movement and harmonic texture. The piece builds the vertical sensation of scaling up and down the building. Listen for a whimsical transition which represents peaceful birds in flight. At the end, the skyscraper stands in all strength and confidence!

In this piece, ensembles experience the traditional “Gloria” text in the context of uneven meter and mixolydian tonality. The meter consistently follows a pattern of 2+2+3. Performers can strengthen their fluency with this pattern through intentional movement, which is always at the heart of rhythmic achievement. As singers interact with this piece and its meter through movement, it will strengthen their musicianship and performance abilities.
