Totari (Mixed Choir, SAB)

Description

A new arrangement by composer Laura Jekabsone for SAB mixed choir of one of her most popular choral titles. Totari was written for the Christmas program of the vocal group Latvian Voices. It is based on a Latvian folklore refrain – “totari”, which is typical of winter solstice folksongs. The composition is rhythmically active, while at the same time retaining its melodiousness both in the main theme, sung in folk style, and in the rhythmically lyrical middle section. (3:50)
