Description

A hauntingly beautiful collaboration between modern hymnwriter Erik Dewar and Dan Forrest, this anthem for SATB voices (with piano and optional strings) weaves together a newly written hymn with “I Heard the Voice of Jesus Say” (KINGSFOLD). A powerful experience for both general worship and Lent.

Composer Note
“I first heard Erik Dewar’s hymn Come Find His Rest when I was at College Church Wheaton (where Erik serves as worship director) for a weekend with their choir. As I walked in on Sunday morning, the choir was rehearsing the hymn version; I sat in a pew in the otherwise-empty sanctuary and found myself deeply moved as its text and melody washed over me.

“I was supposed to be the guest providing beautiful music that weekend, but Erik’s hymn moved my spirit just as much, and it was a joy to collaborate with him on a choral anthem setting a few months later.”
