Description

As you set out for Ithaka is a rhapsody, or extended piece, held together by recurring musical ideas. While the poet may be addressing a certain person, perhaps someone from Greek mythology, he might also be wishing any traveler well, hoping as he states, that the “voyage is a long one, full of adventure, full of discovery.” Without question, the traveler should expect a journey replete with exoticism, a degree of danger, and great beauty.
