Description
Beloved among flutists for her iconic Concertino (1902), Cecile Chaminade further enriched the repertoire in 1911 with Serenade aux etoiles for flute and piano – a “serenade to the stars” strongly influenced by French impressionism, and much gentler than the earlier flute work. By rescoring this charming work for two flutes with piano, Cary Ratcliff introduces musical dialogue between the soloists, along with rich, new textures.
