Description
This gentle, flowing two-part treble piece uses the traditional melody from the folk song The Sally Gardens, carried in unison much of the time. Glenda Franklin’s original text describes the thief that steals our daylight hours, leaving us with the calm of evening and night. Written to be sung with a very legato approach, the piece feels comfortable for developing voices and beautifully captures the peaceful close of the day.
