Description

Arranged by Marshall McDonald and Steven Sharp Nelson, Sacred Hymns, Vol. 1 features the following eight hymns:

  • O My Father
  • Jesus, the Very Thought of Thee
  • I Need Thee Every Hour
  • A Poor Wayfaring Man of Grief
  • Abide with Me; ‘Tis Eventide
  • As Now We Take the Sacrament
  • If You Could Hie to Kolob
  • More Holiness Give Me
  • The instrumental solo arrangement of “If You Could Hie to Kolob” in this book is an adaptation of Marshall McDonald's choral arrangement as performed in 2007 by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in its weekly broadcast of Music and the Spoken Word.

This product includes the viola booklet ONLY. You may purchase the coordinating piano accompaniment book separately.

The instrumental solo part booklet is available for violin/flute, viola or cello –all of which match the same piano accompaniment (however only one solo instrumental part can be played at one time). The piano accompaniment book includes a minimized cue line above the piano part, showing the pianist what the instrumental soloist is playing. Please note that this cue line is the violin part (regardless of which instrumental booklet you purchase). Although there are subtle differences in other solo parts and the clefs they play in, the violin cue line is an adequate representation of what any solo instrument plays.
