Blast off with Spaceship to Mars, a wacky waltz that will leave students soaring! Written in Middle C position, the alternating ascending and descending lines feature various half and whole steps that create a quirky soundtrack to this outer space experience. Careful attention to phrasing and fingering will allow the melody to float seamlessly in the 3/4 meter. Students will notice a particularly original section featuring only whole steps. The use of pedal during this moment will be necessary for capturing that otherworldly sound. An optional duet accompaniment can be added for even more adventure. Enjoy your trip to the cosmos!
