Jacob Lambros

Jacob Lambros is a musician from Murray, UT. After finishing high school at Murray High School in 2009, Jacob went on to study music at Salt Lake Community College where he graduated in 2011 with an A.S. in music. However, he was still thirsty for musical knowledge after this endeavor and started to study Jazz Composition at the University of Utah, he completed his B.A. in Jazz Composition in 2015, and he composed many guitar ensemble and big band charts. He is currently teaching group guitar lessons after school for Bonneville Elementary. Jacob has also been involved in the local music scene by performing in rock bands, jazz combos, and even weddings and musicals.

Jacob believes that every student should have a great understanding of the fundamental of guitar and music. This fundamental knowledge can be gained through learning songs and styles that interests the student. Students should strive to learn songs to the best of their ability, this means learning songs in their entirety, getting the song memorized, and understanding the musical aspects of the song. At the same time, we should make sure that the student is having fun and enjoying themselves because that’s what music is truly about.

MIKE PAINE

Guitar 801-628-3204saltlakecityguitarlessons.com

Mike Paine began teaching himself to play the guitar over sixteen years ago. It was about this time when he also began performing his new instrument and singing in front of large and small audiences. While at the University of Utah, Mike studied Jazz Guitar under the direction of Kevin Johansen. It was then when Mike fully began to understand the instrument he loves to play. After years of performing both in various local bands and as a solo act, and appearing as a musician and singer on three of the four major local television stations. Mike is eager and willing to pass on his knowledge and experience to the next generation of guitar players and performers.

Mike's philosophy and approach to playing the guitar is simple. Start by learning the songs and style you want to play. The reason so many people give up playing the guitar is because they start by learning things on the guitar that they are not yet interested in. It is hard when you have to learn the guitar in this way. Because it is hard, people tend to give up on playing. It doesn't have to be that way. Mike will start by teaching you the basic chords necessary to play songs that you want to learn to play. You will be required to learn at least one song per month. In addition, Mike will also teach the player new chords so that it will be easier to learn more songs that you are interested in.

As one of your lessons, Mike will hold a Master Class once a month where you will have the opportunity to perform the song(s) you have learned for other students and also listen to the songs they have learned. The Master Classes will help you prepare for recital concerts to be held three times a year.
